In times, when every bride wants to shine on her wedding day, feel perfect and glamorous, even the smallest details matter. But even when it wasn’t so, shoes were always important – choosing the right shoes would ensure comfort and style, would be the best complement of the wedding dress. But how to choose the perfect ones that will go with the dress? Here are some tips that might come in handy.

Go for comfort

We all know the temptation of buying the prettiest high heels that are incredibly gorgeous but too small or too high or simply don’t fit right. But oh, well, it’s worth to suffer a bit. When choosing the right shoes, keep in mind that the discomfort might ruin the most important day of your life, one you should enjoy to the fullest. Go for shoes in the right size, on a heel you are accustomed to – too high or too low might make your feet sore. It’s best to shop for shoes in the afternoon, as in the morning your feet are actually smaller and you might buy yourself the wrong size! Before the big day wear the shoes around the house for a few days so your legs get accustomed to them.

Location, location, location

Winter garden wedding? Sandals might not be the best choice. Beach wedding? High heels will only help you sink in the sand. Always keep in mind the setting of your wedding, so you wouldn’t have to fight your footwear for stability and comfort of movement

Complement the dress

It is quite obvious that when you have a light, plain dress you shouldn’t buy big, heavy shoes. What some often don’t keep in mind is that the fabric, pattern and colour are important too. Try to ensure that shoes are the same shade of white as the dress – too light might distract from the dress itself, too dark might stand out too much. The fabric should also match the dress, especially when it comes to shiny ones like satin.

When it comes to patterns and embellishments, it gets more complicated. Generally, the overall style should match – a simple, white frock should be matched with smooth, delicate bootee but they might look too plain with a heavily embroidered wedding gown. On the other hand, you should try not to over do it. The best way to go is to make sure that a hint of what you have on your dress can be found on the shoes.

Take measure!

Always remember to have the hem of your dress fitted for the height of your shoes so you wouldn’t trip over it or have your ankles unintentionally poking out from underneath. It is best to have the final dress fitting taken in the wedding shoes and the previous ones in shoes that are at least similar height.

Elegance is a combination of appearance and presentation. The way you dress affects the way you feel and the manner in which you present yourself to others. The way you feel about yourself has a definite influence on how others perceive and react to you.

To achieve a dignified, sophisticated, elegant appearance, you will need to select clothes that accentuate your most positive features. A long, honest look into the mirror will let you know when you have found the style of clothing that allows you to exude a sense of elegance when you walk into a room. Your selection of wardrobe accessories can elevate a simple style of dress to an elegant level of design.

While your clothes and accessories may look exquisite, attaining the status of elegant can only occur when you know in your mind and feel in your soul that you are indeed elegant. If feeling elegant is an unfamiliar experience for you, take some time to explore various clothing styles, shoe styles, and wardrobe accessories until you find the combination that makes you feel confident about your appearance. Doubt and insecurities prohibit you from experiencing the self confidence required to look at yourself as a genuine example of elegance.

Once you have found your signature style of dress and you wear it with confidence, an aura of elegance will radiant from you wherever you go. Ultimately, being elegant means presenting yourself in the most dignified manner possible in any situation. Authentic elegance is a very desirable trait to aspire to acquire.

When you hear the words formal wear you immediately think expensive and elegant. You can still be elegant without spending a lot of money. Women are much better equipped to handle a formal occasion. Most guys don’t have tuxedos hanging in their closets so here are some tips on how the gentlemen can save money on formal attire:

1. Consignment - There are consignment stores that specialize in evening and formal wear. You can purchase a dark suit or even a tuxedo at a fraction of the price of a new one. Since tuxedos are timeless, this can be a great way to beef up your formal wardrobe.

2. Find a sale - Many formal wear stores have one day ‘blowout’ sales. You can purchase samples or one of a kind suits or tuxedos at deeply discounted prices. Although these sales do not include any alterations, it would be worth getting a quality piece that any tailor should be able to alter for you.

3. Dress it up - Sometimes a colorful vest or cummerbund can dress up an ordinary suit. Add an elegant tie or handkerchief to make it more formal.

4. Newspaper - Check your local want ads. You might be surprised to find a real bargain. Tuxedos are probably not common items for sale but if you are diligent, you may just get lucky!

5. Formalwear rentals - If you don’t want to invest in purchasing a tuxedo, you can always rent one. There are several tuxedo rental shops in most cities.

So you can still look great on a budget. Besides, elegance is in the attitude!

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” – probably we all know the rhyme. The old for bride’s family and friends’ help in times of need, the new for prosperity, the borrowed for husband’s family’s favour and the blue for faithfulness and fertility. In some countries people add something white for pureness but that is often overlooked, as traditionally the wedding dress of the bride is supposed to be white.

There are many other superstitions around the world that couples abide by. Some of them are very interesting.

In Japan, the groom is responsible for furnishing the bedroom he will be sharing with his wife. To ensure male children, another married couple that already has sons is invited to spend a night in the nuptial bed.

Jewish couples should await the wedding ceremony in separate rooms and not see each other. Also, guests are supposed to treat them as if they were a royal couple, titling them ‘king’ and ‘queen’ and making their lives as pleasant as possible on their special day.

In China, the wedding party usually doesn’t last longer than three hours, as it is bad luck for the alcohol to run out. Russian men drink their alcohol from the bride’s shoe in honour of the young couple.

In Kenya, the bride’s father spits on his daughter’s head and bosom to ensure her marriage lasts. The bride should also not look back when she walks to her husband’s home, as his family might not accept her and send her back. The Irish tie a hen to their bedpost for favourable marriage. The hen is supposed to lay an egg during the wedding night that is to be eaten for breakfast.

There are as many superstitions concerning the wedding as there are countries – each country has it’s own set of traditions that the young couple need to fulfil in order to ensure a happy, fulfilling marriage and each one of them adds to the magic of this beautiful event in the lives of two people. Sometimes considered silly, in truth they are a fun addition that can bring out the uniqueness.

For many men, deciding upon what to wear during the evening can be a fairly complicated decision, which more often than not leads to frustration. After all, everyone wants to look good when they go out at night, and switching it up can be a rather complicated affair.

As trends have changed, evening wear for men has as well. No longer does evening wear have to consist of a tuxedo, as there are plenty of options that can help you to both keep it fresh and interesting.

For those who are trying to turn heads but don’t know how, it’s best to strike a balance between formal and alternative. For instance, those who want to go out and get attention might decide to wear attire that is formal with a single accent that isn’t, such as a brightly colored tie or an interesting pair of shoes. As a result, no one is going to think that you aren’t classy, but they’ll also think that you’re a bit ahead of the times. Wearing an interesting accent is also an excellent way to tell the world that you don’t take yourself too seriously.

If accents aren’t your think, shake things up by showing up to a party “in costume.” For instance, if you just started working from home, you might want to show up in a robe to celebrate your new freedom. Dressing topically is a great way to get peoples’ attention, and you’ll no doubt be the life of the party.

Tuxedos have been regulation formal wear for over a century. It is one garment that never seems to go out of style. Whether it is the sheer novelty or shock to see a guy in flattering formal wear, nearly every man looks good in a tux.

The origin of the tux began forty miles northwest of New York City on land wrested from the Algonquins. Their name for the locale, when pronounced phonetically, was “Tuxedo”, and the name for the town established became “Tuxedo Park”.

Pierre Lorillard IV, a member of the town’s elite, was instrumental in helping to found The Tuxedo Club, whose first Autumn Ball was held in October, 1886.

Some think that the Prince of Wales, the future Edward VIII, and his Saville Row tailors originated the suit, but the Tuxedo Club People got there first with the name. Mr Lorillard was credited with commissioning a tail-less formal jacket, and made the “Tuxedo” into the fashion statement of the century.

What will the tuxedo look like in years to come? The tux has been through many changes, though the classic lines remain the same. Newer organic cloth may be used to make the tuxedo more breathable and a little less warm to wear in crowded social conditions. Microfiber might make for some interesting drape and detailing, such as pin tucks or pleating.

Perhaps the tux will become a more unisex garment, as the ladies are discovering that they look pretty darn good in a tuxedo as well.

Have you ever had to ask someone for advice on what to wear for an event? Do we wear a long-tailed tuxedo or short tail? Are there certain events or functions that we are suppose to dress differently than others? Is there a difference between formal wear and wedding wear? Hopefully, this will make it a little easier for your next affair. First and foremost, what type of event does make a difference in what you wear.

Weddings are the dressiest attired event held. Usually, it is black tie attire for the groomsmen. In a black tie attire, it is required of you to wear a black tuxedo, black bow tie, white shirt (whether it be plain front or pleated) and black shoes (The more formal the occasion, the shinier the leather must be and thinner the sole. They also need to be lace up shoes).

Long-tailed tuxedos should be worn during the day, while short-tailed tuxedos can be worn at night. You should choose your jacket style according to your body frame. Your jacket should compliment your body style. Some have more buttons than others to accent or elongate your frame.

Formal events can mean anything from a job interview to an evening at the opera. For these events you can dress in semi-formal attire. This means that you can dress in a nice 2-piece suit. You may wear business suits that are very classy with a white shirt and tie. You can wear black loafers with your suit if you’d like, depending on setting.

A wedding ceremony can be organised without any special items, only with some family and friends in a simple gathering. The magical words ‘I do’ don’t necessarily need an extraordinary setting and a lot of things bought specifically for this moment. But without them it’s difficult to create an unusual spirit. Wedding day is the day, which everyone should remember forever. Beautiful knick-knacks are very helpful – and these days there is no end to wedding accessories variety. Furthermore, the manufacturers convince us that all of these things are obligatory and without them nothing succeeds. Of course this is not true, but maybe buying some accessories might be worth it.

Every bride wants to get her perfect wedding dress to fulfill her dream as a princess on her wedding day. Often a bride-to-be would find a wedding dress she really likes but feels something missed. However, you can add your own special unique details until you have the wedding dress of your dreams. Check for some wonderful suggestions to customize your wedding gown.

A perfect wedding dress should flatter your figure than any other dresses that you ever worn. Possibilities are that you find a dress that makes you look like a million bucks and another gown that has all details you like! Pick the flattering one! However, you can get your perfect dress by using the details from the other one as inspiration for transforming the first bridal gown into your vision.

Today’s skilled seamstresses can get a customized wedding dress stand out of the plain and shine through. The most used method is to add lace embellishments. Pick a wide piece of border lace and wrap it around the midsection of a simple silk A-line gown. With little and easy-going changes on a ribbon or sash to define and accentuate the waist, a beautiful classic style is seen on your flattering bridal gown.

Also lace appliques are another pretty way to personalize your dress. Large or small, heavy or lightweight, appliques can be almost added on any party of the dress. It would be really pretty to scatter lace appliques over the skirt of a bridal gown for more feminine touch or create a formal style with an elaborate deep lace hem. If you also wear crystals bridal jewelry, how about add a touch of crystal beading to the lace? It can really make it look amazing.

Crystals embellishments are the most popular way to get a stunning wedding dress. It is a quick way to add drama to the back of your dress with added a row of mirror backed crystal buttons, which will go just to the waistline, or flow all the way down the end of the train for even more drama. This is really an easy method to do the trick, right? Other options for crystal beading can be a pre-made crystal beaded trim on the neckline, waist of a wedding gown, spaghetti straps, etc. All can be a beautiful way to play up the look with some jeweled accent. However, you should bear in mind that these crystals beading incorporate with your crystal bridal jewelry.

Actually every bride-to-be can really get her personalized wedding dress! She can order her custom made wedding dress online! Also she can get her flattering bridal gown customized by a skilled seamstress. She can add either lace embellishments or crystal beadings for more feminine touch. She can add an overlayer to the skirt for a lovely ethereal effect as well. The possibilities for personalized a wedding dress are endless.

Surrounded by her soon-to-be husband and in-laws, wedding party, and family, she wants to exude the confidence and comfort every bride should have. Depending on the location and formality of the event, though, the bride certain attire may be better suited for the occasion.

For the brides who are having their rehearsal dinner at a fancy restaurant or country club, a nice cocktail dress would be a nice sophisticated, yet fun choice. Complementing her outfit with accessories she loves and add some sparkle is a great addition. One should remember, though, if they are wearing a bold color dress to tone down the accessories.

For the brides who opted for a more informal rehearsal dinner, it is important to feel and look relax, but also stand out from the rest of the guests. Depending on the weather, wearing capri or khaki pants with a fun and dressy top may be a better fit.

If the event is outdoors, the bride has the flexibility to dress in whatever she in comfortable wearing. However, it is suggested to avoid wearing heels for an outside event. If the terrain is uneven, it could cause her to fall. The last thing a bride wants is a sprained ankle the day before her wedding!

Above all, the bride must make sure that she is comfortable and confident in the outfit she is wearing. This is the night to relax before entering into her Happily Ever After.
