Formal Wedding Attire For Men

An old BOWTIE

In today’s world of weddings, formality is often expected. However, for male guests, this poses several questions in regard to proper attire. While there are many choices for men’s outfits for this situation, it is essential to get the proper combination of elegant clothing and chic accessories in order to create just the right look.

It is important to remember that for men, the main staple of any formal outfit is the suit. For the most formal of weddings, a tuxedo would be considered proper. However, for many weddings, a nicely tailored suit will fit the bill. Usually suits of darker colors portray a more polished image and are more appropriate for such ceremonies as weddings. Black or charcoal colors are popular choices when it comes to suits at these events. Of course, the time of day and season will also play a role in determining what colors and fabric weights to wear.

As for accessories, a nice silk tie and cummerbund or vest are classic options. Note that the tie should actually be tied, and not a clip-on or ready-made bow tie. With most formal suits and tuxedos, belts are not necessary, and cummerbunds or suspenders are preferred. The most popular shoe is the black plain-toe oxford. And cufflinks should complement the suit, adding a touch of finesse to the outfit as a whole.

For the perfect look for a formal wedding, build on these guidelines, and remember to add a bit of personality in the look so as to remain fresh and fashionable.
