Why wedding dresses are so expensive

How is it possible that wedding dress costs a few times more then ordinary dress? Why the price is so high? Each bride asked herself this question during wedding preparations, so it is important to resolve this question.

For many women wedding is the most important ceremony in their life, so they try to make everything perfect. But one of the most important things the bride’s appearance that not seldom depends on wedding dress.

• Wedding dress should be made of the best materials to represents well. Velvet, satin and silk aren’t cheap but they look appropriately and they are really white, which isn’t so sure in case of cheaper materials. 

• Wedding dress should be sewed well. Parts, which dress is made of, should be painstakingly prepare. Each piece is carefully sew up to another usually more then one time, to avoid stitches breaking during the wedding, which would be a disaster. For this reason wedding dresses are sewed by highly qualified dressmaker with long professional experience and their work should be well paid.

• This dresses are mostly made in the country of Western world where costs of manufacture are higher than in China where most of our regular clothes are made in. 

• Another thing that decides about the price is the size of production. Cheap t-shirt are made in millions of copies. But making wedding dresses is different. Collections are small and number of copies are mostly less than 100 (of course, there are exceptions). There isn’t any kind of automatisation. It has a one advantage – the dresses are finished very precisely.

• Last thing which decides the hight price of wedding dresses is amount of adornments, especially pearl and lace. Both details are popular and quite expensive. Even more expensive is connecting them with dresses. Pearl should be sewed in a special way to prevent rip off. It’s mostly handmade work. Another problem with adornments is cutting and sewing lace. These details could cause significant increase of price.

So if you are preparing to wedding you now know why wedding dress is so expensive, and you also know why do not economize on it. You wouldn’t like to wear yellowed dress that don’t suit and isn’t trim with lace, would you ?
